Municipalities & Remote Communities
Supporting Resilience for Municipalities and Remote Communities
Calian is uniquely suited to support municipalities and remote and Indigenous communities, having expertise and solutions that address a wide range of community needs. Our approach integrates community-based knowledge with the highest industry standards and best practices. We work hard to develop strong relationships and build tailored solutions to meet the community's needs. We also work with our clients to develop funding applications and provide program support where desired.
Along with key services we deliver to remote communities for emergency planning and health, Calian also has extensive experience in environmental management, water/wastewater planning, nuclear preparedness, training, IT and cybersecurity.
Our Clients
Calian has delivered work directly to several remote and Indigenous communities across Canada as well as through Indigenous Services Canada.
Calian has developed comprehensive emergency plans for Interlake Reserves Tribal Council and provided community plan proposals for Peguis, Dauphin River, Pinaymootang, Little Saskatchewan, Kinonjeoshtegon and Lake Manitoba. We supported real-time learning by working with those communities during a real-life evacuation situation.
Calian delivers medical specialists (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, etc.) to support Indigenous communities. These services are delivered through FNIHB or through Community Health Authorities directly with significant support provided to Nunavut and Northern Ontario.
