In 2024 Calian acquired MDA Ltd’s nuclear services.

MDA has provided professional services to the Canadian nuclear industry for more than 30 years, supported by a highly specialized team of engineers delivering complex project planning and management for large nuclear outages and refurbishment projects, including experience in nuclear outage tooling. MDA’s nuclear team was integrated into Calian’s existing Nuclear business.

In 2023, Calian acquired US-based Hawaii Pacific Teleport (HPT).

HPT operated for over 20 years as an independent teleport and continues to be the first choice for Asia Pacific satellite communications service providers. Leveraging its service locations across the Hawaiian Islands and Guam, HPT provides secure, contiguous connectivity throughout the Asia Pacific region from its strategically located US based locations.

In 2020, Calian acquired Tallysman Wireless Inc., a leading manufacturer of precision Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) antennas, and related components.

Tallysman designs, manufactures and sells a very wide range of GNSS, Iridium and Globalstar antennas and related products into a market with a broad range of vertical applications that include precision reference systems, survey, timing, precision agriculture, unmanned and autonomous vehicles, marine and many more. The company also produces cloud based wireless tracking systems over two-way radio systems and 4G category M cellular systems, for applications ranging from school buses to municipal public works.

In 2020, Calian acquired Tallysman Wireless Inc., parent company of Tallymatics Inc., both strong in precision Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), IoT and Tracking products. 

 In 2021, Calian acquired InterTronic Solutions Inc., Canada’s foremost producer of high-performance antenna systems.

The state of the art, high precision antenna solutions built by InterTronic include high-accuracy, high-speed motion systems used by military, scientific and commercial customers. Applications of InterTronic solutions include Radio Astronomy, Radar, Electronic Warfare, Deep Space and Satellite Communications.

In 2019 Calian acquired SatService, Gesellschaft für Kommunikationssysteme mbH., a solid player in the European satellite ground systems market. 

Based in Steisslingen, Germany, SatService offers innovative engineering solutions and products for the satellite communications market. Product offerings include the sat-nms line of first-class software and hardware solutions for antenna control and tracking, monitoring and control systems and L-band transmission. 

 In 2018, Calian acquired IntraGrain Technologies Inc., a growing Canadian AgTech firm delivering advanced technology solutions to the agriculture market.

Based in Regina, Saskatchewan, IntraGrain is the maker of the innovation-award winning BIN-SENSE® grain storage solution. The technology combines Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity with bin sensors to protect grain quality and eliminate the risk of stored grain spoilage.

In 2017, Calian acquired International Safety Research Inc. (ISR) of Ottawa, Ontario. ISR had been in business for almost 20 years providing radiation and nuclear safety engineering, and emergency preparedness and response services to both government and private sector customers.
