Ottawa, ON November 14, 2017 – Calian Group Ltd. (TSX: CGY) is pleased to announce that it has partnered with leading technology solutions providers to evolve its Cyber Security offering into a full-service, cyber solutions practice.

Building on a 21-year heritage of providing cyber security consulting, Calian has formed partnerships with industry-leading security vendors including Fortinet Technologies, Cylance, Gemalto, Terranova and Forcepoint, allowing Calian to meet customers' complex needs for a full range of cyber solutions.

Under Calian's IT and Professional Services line, Calian's Cyber Resilience Office helps organizations protect, detect, respond to and recover from cyber attacks and breaches. Specific service offerings from Calian now include cyber strategies, vulnerability, privacy and threat assessments, and security maturity and architecture reviews.

"Cyber attacks of all kinds are on the rise, with surveys showing that over 90% of breaches target end-users," said Sandra Cote, Vice President, IT and Professional Services, Calian. "Companies and governments need to invest in their people as well as their technology. When investing in cyber security, training your teams for breaches and attacks provides the best return on investment."

Organizations need to plan and prepare for both physical and virtual emergencies. Companies will not be measured by being the victim of an attack – but by how they respond to one. Leveraging Calian's combined expertise in both Emergency Management and Cyber Security will help organizations improve their posture for resilience. Calian's full-service, cyber solutions practice experienced strong growth in fiscal 2017 after winning new business from public and private-sector customers.

"Studies show that hospitals and municipal governments are particularly vulnerable to these attacks and breaches," said Bill Dunnion, Director, Cyber Resilience Office, Calian. "Our training programs teach employees to understand the threats and phish like the bad guys. We offer specialized training programs over the course of a year that are fun for teams while building awareness and offering rewards. We don't run training projects – we help organizations create a security culture."
