Design Flexibility
Calian can design and manufacture simple coaxial assemblies to complex multi-branch wiring harnesses found in military vehicles, test systems and complex communication systems.
As a result of our flexible facility layout and staffing structure, we can accommodate varying volumes.
Our team ensures complete physical and electrical consistency by using custom harness layout and testing boards.
EMI/EMC Shielding
Many of the harness assemblies designed and manufactured by Calian are used in environments where platform noise floors are excessive. Ensuring proper shielding and grounding is critical to ensure signals are not degraded or intercepted.
Our facility includes a metal braiding capability which applies multiple layers of metal braid ensuring our products meet strict quality and EMI/EMC requirements, even when exposed to the harshest operational conditions.
Cable Extrusion
Calian offers a thermoplastic extrusion capability for those customers requiring an extra level of conductor insulation where additional mechanical or environmental protection is required.
Manufacturing Process
We have an extensive inventory of automated equipment to produce a wide variety of cables and harnesses from low prototype quantities to large production volumes.
Our assembly team is fully trained and works to IPC-A-620.

Calian takes a proactive approach to procure as much project material in Canada as feasible. Local procurement through Small Medium Businesses (SMBs), including Indigenous suppliers, is encouraged as a measure to increase overall Canadian supplier growth and awareness.
