Did you know?

There are 40,000 families of full-time regular force Canadian Armed Forces personnel who do not receive care through the military, but access healthcare through provincial programs.

Military families face unique circumstances:

  • Frequent relocations
  • Regular family absences due to training and/or deployment
  • Increased risk for operational injury, illness or death of the military member.

Military Family Doctor Network

Calian Health, in collaboration with Military Family Services (MFS), has introduced the Military Family Doctor Network (MFDN) program as part of its corporate citizenship efforts.

Petawawa military family video visit pilot: enhancing access to healthcare

The Petawawa Military Family Video Visit Pilot enabled military family patients in the Petawawa/Pembroke area to securely consult Ontario physicians from their homes, functioning like non-emergency walk-in clinics with scheduled video appointments. The Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) and Calian Ltd. joined forces to provide virtual doctor services, addressing the healthcare needs of military families facing physician accessibility challenges.
