After a 32-year career at SED/Calian, Rick Agrey is retiring, effective May 31, 2022. Rick retires as Senior Systems Engineer, Systems Engineering. Over the course of his career, Rick’s position has provided him with several work-related travel opportunities that allowed him to visit multiple countries, while also creating connections with co-workers and partner companies across the globe.

“It’s hard for me to believe that 32 years have passed since I started working at SED/Calian. It’s also hard to believe that I have spent just over half my life with this company,” says Rick. “It has been an interesting and rewarding time. I have enjoyed the international scope of the engineering work I’ve done, seeing several different countries and meeting a lot of people both in our workplace and with our partners throughout the world.”

“Rick started working at SED Systems soon after graduating from engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. Since then, Rick has worked on many different projects ranging from gateways, Sirius XM, along with planning systems and RF systems,” says Dale Meginbir, Manager, Systems Engineering.

“Our workplace is a very professional one and I have appreciated that atmosphere. I believe that our projects succeed because we work together as a team – none of us could do this work alone,” says Rick.
“Down the road, I imagine that I will miss the work and interacting with the team that is now Calian AT, but first, I am going to enjoy taking it easy and having the freedom to set my own schedule. Best of luck in the future to all of you and to Calian AT.”

“Most recently Rick has been project manager for several RFS projects” adds Dale. “Kolya Ramirez-Hughes will be taking the reins on the projects that Rick has been managing. We wish Rick all the best of health and happiness in his retirement!”
