In-situ Characterization of the Gentilly-1 Active Liquid Waste System

Calian supported the in-situ characterization of the active liquid waste system of the G-1 CANDU reactor. Calian prepared a Characterization plan consistent with CSA N294 (Appendix C), coordinated sample collection with the field team, coordinated sample analysis with the certified laboratory, and developed a Characterization Report which clearly demonstrated compliance with waste acceptance criteria for radiological and non-radiological constituents and provided an estimate of waste volumes to support waste management projections.
