Ottawa, Ontario, March 9, 2015 – Calian Technologies Ltd. (TSX: CTY) announced today that it has been awarded a renewal contract valued at $16 million by the Department of National Defence (DND) for the provision and delivery of Technical Training at the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics (CFSCE) located at CFB Kingston, Kingston, Ontario.

The initial two year contract is valued at over $8 million. The contract also contains two one-year options which if exercised could increase the total value of the contract to over $16 million for the four-year period. This contract will allow Calian to continue to support training at CFSCE, a relationship that first began in 2000.

Under the terms of the contract, Calian's instructors will design, develop and deliver training services as defined by the Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES). In addition to developing eLearning courseware for CFSCE, Calian's team will be training their personnel on such topics as DND's communications systems, network management, electronics, use and maintenance of cryptographic communications equipment as well as training linemen on the implementation of physical communications infrastructure.

"Calian is honoured to once again be chosen as the Canadian Forces training partner and to continue to support CFSCE's mission to foster and sustain operationally focused, command-centric experts in communications, information systems and information operations. In awarding this Contract to Calian, DND continues to recognize the value of our service and the expertise of our personnel" stated Kevin Ford, President, Calian BTS Division.
