November 17th, 2014 – Calian Technologies Ltd. (TSX:CTY is pleased to announce the official Grand Opening of its occupational health clinic in Fort McKay Industrial Park today, in the heart of Canada’s oil sands development.

“The Fort McKay Health Clinic will provide an efficient, responsive solution to ensuring the health and employability of the many men and women who come to work in Canada’s oil sands,” said Scott Murray, Vice President for Health Services, Calian Ltd. “Through the professional services offered at our clinic, we can reduce down time for the many companies operating in the area, and ensure optimal occupational health for the oil sands work force.”

The clinic will offer comprehensive occupational health services, including employee physicals, work injury medical care, immunizations, medical surveillance, and more. Prior to the opening of Calian’s clinic, individuals requiring occupational health services were required to drive an additional hour to Fort McMurray, and often experienced lengthy wait times.

“We spoke to several organizations with operations in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and learned that their employees’ health is a key priority, yet there was a lack of convenient occupational health care options within the community,” said Murray. “Our comprehensive services will ensure employees are healthy both pre-employment and during employment and that those with work-related injuries are able to return to work as soon as possible.”

Calian has developed a strong reputation in the occupational, urgent care and family health services sector with a network of approximately 1500 health care professionals in more than 170 clinics across Canada.
