Ottawa, ON — Nov. 14, 2016 - Calian Group Ltd. (TSX:CGY) is pleased to announce that, the company was a recipient of the 2016 Best Business Award presented at the Best Ottawa Business Awards (BOBs) gala at the Westin Hotel on November 10th.

Organized by the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce and the Ottawa Business Journal, the annual BOBs program seeks to recognize the most successful and innovative companies and business leaders who are driving economic growth and prosperity in the nation’s capital.

Calian has achieved unprecedented success, with over 60 consecutive profitable quarters and revenues growing to the highest levels in the company’s history in 2016. Calian’s strong leadership team coupled with its diverse service offerings have been key to this growth, which has allowed the company to reach new markets, including the corrections and oil and gas sectors, and secure notable contracts with several new organizations. In addition, Calian has continued to build upon 20+ year relationships with organizations such as the Department of National Defence, the Canadian Space Agency and several prominent satellite telecommunications companies.

On April 1st, 2016, the company rebranded to Calian Group Ltd. (formerly Calian Technologies Ltd.) to better reflect the company’s diverse service offerings. As a company that started with a single employee in Ottawa in 1982, it has since evolved to employ more 2,500 people across the country in the health, training, IT, systems engineering and contract manufacturing services.
