Ottawa, ON — Nov. 1, 2016 - Calian Group Ltd. is once again proud to sponsor the Ottawa Senators’ annual Canadian Armed Forces Appreciation Night, taking place, tonight, Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa.

For over 25 years, Calian has provided diverse professional services to CAF members across Canada. In addition to developing and executing complex pre-deployment training exercises, Calian has been DND’s healthcare program delivery partner since 2005, responsible for providing health services on all of Canada’s military bases.

In 2015, Calian also launched the Military Family Doctor Network in partnership with Military Family Services, which aims to improve access for families of serving CAF members to family physicians. Calian remains committed to hiring former military members, reservists and spouses through the Military Employment Transition (MET) and MET Spouse programs, having hired hundreds of former military members to date. The company also actively participates in the Vanier Institute Leadership Circle in Ottawa, which aims to build community knowledge around military and veteran families.

In addition, Calian recently presented Dr. Richard Birtwhistle and the Canadian Primary Care Sentinel Surveillance Network (CPCSSN) with a grant of $105,000 in support of the first pan-Canadian multi-disease electronic medical record surveillance system for military families and veterans.

“We are pleased to support an event that recognizes the incredible contributions of our military members,” said Kevin Ford, President and CEO of Calian. “As a longtime program delivery partner to the Department of National Defence, this is an opportunity for us to give back to the military community that we have worked with for many years.”
