CFSATE is a Department of National Defence (DND) establishment located at Canadian Forces Base Borden (CFB Borden) which is part of 16 Wing and is operationally responsible for 2 Canadian Air Division. The role of CFSATE is to provide the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) with qualified aircraft maintenance personnel by developing and delivering individual technical and aerospace engineering training in accordance with approved aviation and military doctrine and standards.

The school provides apprentice level training for a variety of trades including Avionics (AVS), Aviation (AVN), Aircraft Structures (ACS), and Air Weapons (AWS) Military Occupational Identification Technicians (MOSIT) as well as Aerospace Engineering Officers (AERE).

As part of this project, we are seeking an AVN Instructor to join the CFSATE team.

Primary Responsibilities (but not limited to)

Must provide curriculum for all training requirements.

Perform instructional duties in accordance with approved instructional techniques, while ensuring the safety and security of personnel and equipment.

Prepares, maintains, and revises lesson plans and student study manuals in accordance with current TPs and approved guidelines.

Design and develop activities.

Assist the course director in advising students on their performance and proctoring exams

Create entries in the student registry to prepare course reports, advising, etc.

Successfully complete the MPA Level II exam within three (3) months of becoming an AVN instructor under the contract

Required Qualifications

Civilian Trained Personnel

Graduation from an aircraft maintenance technician or aircraft gas turbine engine repair and overhaul technician program offered by a technical institute recognized by the Canadian Aviation and Aerospace Council for the delivery of one or more accredited programs and three (3) years experience as an aircraft maintenance technician or aircraft gas turbine engine repair and overhaul technician in an aircraft maintenance organization.

OR

Graduation from a program offered by a technical institute recognized by Transport Canada as an approved training organization and three (3) years experience as a certified aircraft maintenance engineer in an aircraft maintenance organization, and

At least one (1) year of teaching experience in an adult education environment, plus one (1) year of teaching, instructional support or a combination of teaching and instructional support experience in an adult education environment.

Canadian Forces Trained Personnel

Qualified AVN (or trade level QL 5 for equivalent prior to 1996); and

At least one (1) year of teaching experience in an adult education environment, plus one (1) year of teaching, instructional support or a combination of teaching and instructional support experience in an adult education environment.
