About the role:

Our Federal Government client has a current need for a Senior IT Security Engineer to perform the following duties:

  • Architect and implement commercial access solutions, in support of client’s classified mobility charter and existing minor and

  • Develop security reference architecture and solution architecture, based on selected guidance from CSEC STS / MCCP design packages;

  • Implement access-cross domain capabilities and ensuring its support of the requisite cross-domain information flows

  • Collaborate with SMEs to facilitate verification of A-CDS implementation as part of system integration and accreditation efforts;

  • Review, design, and develop engineering process documents

  • Review, analyse, evaluate, and provide written guidance on a broad range of security technologies

  • Secure IT architecture fundamentals, standards, communications and security protocols such as IPSec, IPv6, TLS and SSH;

  • IT security protocols at all layers of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) and Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) stacks;

  • Application, host and/or network hardening techniques, products and security best practices such as shell scripting, service identification, and access control;

  • Wireless technology;

  • Approved Government Cryptographic Algorithms;

  • Produce IT security solutions options analysis and implementation plans;

  • Identify and analyse the technical threats to, and vulnerabilities of, networks;

  • Develop and implement IT security applications and infrastructures in a broad range of areas, including

  • The qualifications:

  • Clearance: Secret (mandatory)

  • Language: English

  • 10 years’ relevant IT Security Engineering experience

  • Ten (10) years of combined experience within the past fifteen (15) years working in the development and implementation of IT security applications and infrastructures

  • Three (3) years of combined experience in the development of System Engineering Documentation

  • 8+ years’ experience developing network security architectures (Level II or higher) based on IT Security Directives (ITSD) and /or IT Security Guidance (ITSG)

  • 8+ years’ experience creating or performing analysis of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans

  • 8+ years’ writing technical reports such as options analysis, and/or implementation plans

  • Professional IT Security Certification is considered and asset (i.e. CISSP, CSSP, SSCP)
