Instructor - Welding

##About the role:
Calian is looking for an experienced Materials Technician Instructor to add to our talented team at CFB Borden! The chosen candidate will have strong knowledge of welding practices and the ability to instruct adults in different learning environments, including classroom.

##The qualifications:
The chosen candidate will possess the following:
- Must hold a regular force QL5 Mat Tech Certificate OR the following combination of education and certification:
o Secondary School Diploma or General Education Development
o WHMIS and one of the following:
- Provincial or Inter-Provincial Red Seal Ticket for all position Welder in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW and Oxy-acetylene Welding
- CWB Journeyman’s Welding Certification
o Must have a minimum of four years’ experience in the repair welding industry or in the manufacturing industry as a certified welder
o Must have a minimum of two years’ experience instructing adults within the last ten years

##Type of Assignment:
This is a full time, long term contract position

The federal government has implemented a mandatory vaccination policy for public servants and all contractor personnel who access Government of Canada workplaces. As an employee or independent contractor of Calian performing work for federal government customers of Calian, you will be subject to this mandate.

Every Calian employee and independent contractor working on Calian customer worksites will be required to complete an attestation before you are employed by Calian, stating that you are Fully vaccinated (full series of a Health Canada-approved vaccine, 14 days have passed since your last dose). This is a mandatory requirement and failure to complete the attestation will result in you being non-compliant for the position and we will therefore be unable to move forward in the hiring process.
