We are looking for an experienced Managing Editor to join our team!

The role requires a passion for clear, simple, effective writing and desire to build and lead a team of internal and external writers. Reporting to the Director, Digital Marketing and Communications, the Managing Editor has a get-it-done work ethic, strong project management skills and a track record of meeting deadlines in fast paced, complex corporate environments.

You are someone whose career has progressed over the years and you now find yourself in a senior writing role with years of experience managing other writers. You still love to roll up your sleeves and create amazing content. You are just as comfortable writing for websites, blogs as you are creating one-pagers for the sales team or interviewing customers to create engaging case studies. You have an excellent understanding of SEO best practices and use analytics to set, measure and overachieve your content KPIs. You have a coach’s mentality and can lead a team of writers to achieve their full potential.

Your day to day responsibilities:

  • Write different types of content - website, blog, customer case studies, internal communications, ghost writing, sale enablement material, video script writing, etc.

  • Create and manage a detailed content schedule

  • Plan and manage daily content related operations

  • Assign tasks for writers, designers (e.g. infographic, case studies, new webpages, etc.)

  • Oversee proofreading procedures and edit copy when necessary

  • Assist in evaluating finalized copy for compliance with policies, style and tone

  • Provide final sign off before publication

  • Own the ongoing management of messaging frameworks

  • Build and nurture a team of talented internal and external writers

  • Coordinate editorial publications and meetings

  • Monitor and optimize performance to meet traffic, engagement and audience growth targets

  • Implement best practices, workflows, tools and templates to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the publishing process

  • Analyze performance metrics across properties to quantify results

The experience and skills you have:

  • 7+ years as an editor or senior writer

  • 7+ years managing and coaching a team of writers

  • Experience writing for the web and managing multiple messaging frameworks for large complex corporations

  • Excellent project management experience

  • Experience using analytics to set, capture, report and improve content performance

  • Extensive experience creating SEO optimized content

  • Ability to write about complex topic in plain language

  • Experience writing ad copy

  • Experience writing for a SaaS business

  • Experience creating video scripts

  • Experience using digital asset management software

  • Bilingual in both official languages (preferred)
