The Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering (CFSATE) is a Department of National Defence (DND) establishment located at the Canadian Forces Base in Borden, Ontario. The role of CFSATE is to provide the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) with qualified aircraft maintenance personnel by developing and carrying out individual aerospace technical and engineering training.

This bilingual School conducts apprentice level training for various trades. CFSATE’s vision is tied to the evolving needs of the RCAF; its commitment to people, efficiency and responsiveness enables the creation and continuous operation of a dedicated, modern, bilingual training environment for all future aircraft technicians and aerospace engineers.

To support the efforts of the School, we are currently looking for an Administrative Clerk to join the team.

Tasks and responsibilities of the Administrative Clerk:

  • Must have work experience with Windows 10 or newer operating system and MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel as a minimum

    o Must have composed formal correspondence in Outlook, produced statistical HR related reports in Word and created or amended record keeping spreadsheets in Excel

  • Experience working in a deadline-driven, process-oriented, demanding office setting as part of a team

  • Responsible for providing clerical support to a project or specific business development activity

  • Assist Engineering professionals, technical users, instructional staff, students and end-users with administrative tasks

  • Provide administrative support as required to a technical project team

  • Assist in maintaining project documentation and system libraries

  • Arrange Temporary Duty travel reservations, claims, advances, and vehicle requirements

  • Assist with the preparation of the multi-year and annual project and task reports

  • Maintain and update relevant project information in manual or electronic files

  • Prepare cyclical reports (financial or administrative), ensuring technical records are accurate and up-to-date

  • Maintain effective customer and public relations, guiding clients as a source of expertise for all administrative aspects

Here are the requirements if you are a Civilian applying on the role:

  • Successful Completion of a minimum one-year community college course in administration AND three (3) years of work experience in a Human Resources (HR) department or equivalent in terms of personnel management oversight. Types of positions which qualify as relevant work experience are the following: administrative clerk, finance clerk, HR data input clerk, administrative assistant and procurement clerk

  • Bilingual in both official languages

  • Must be eligible to obtain a Government issued Secret level Security Clearance

OR

  • Five (5) years of work experience in a HR department or equivalent in terms of personnel management oversight during the last ten (10) years. Types of positions which qualify as relevant work experience are the following: administrative clerk, finance clerk, HR data input clerk, administrative assistant and procurement clerk

  • Bilingual in both official languages

  • Must be eligible to obtain a Government issued Secret level Security Clearance

Here are the requirements if you are a Canadian Forces personnel applying on the role:

  • Resource Management Support Clerk (RMS Clerk) qualified to a minimum of QL 5, with three (3) years of experience in an orderly room

OR

  • Human Resource Administrator (HRA) qualified to a minimum of QL3 , with one (1) year of experience in an orderly room

  • Bilingual in both official languages

  • Must be eligible to obtain a Government issued Secret level Security Clearance
