Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - Iqaluit

With a population of over 37,000 living in over 20 community regions, the residents of Nunavut receive their healthcare through regional health centres and homecare visits. Calian's partnership with the Government of Nunavut allows us to offer short- and long-term roles to qualified Registered Nurses who are interested in traveling to the region for employment.

The Registered Nurse (RN), Emergency Department, is a member of a multi-disciplinary team. This position is responsible for assessing patient health status and responding to actual and potential health problems including emergent and critical situations on an ongoing basis.

Free accommodations are provided along with a northern living allowance. Generally, assignments offer 37.5 hours of regular work per week, along with additional requirements to be on stand by and take call backs.

Multiple assignments are available throughout the year. Minimum

Length of Assignments are 4 weeks long but can be longer depending on need and availability.

The qualifications:

• 1 year of experience working in a remote or isolated setting, or 2 years of experience in ER

• Licensed with the RNANTNU

• CPR

• ACLS

• EPICC or TNCC or BTLS

• ENPC or PALS

• ALARM or ESW or FHS

• WHIMIS

• CTAS

• Vulnerable Sector Check
