About the role:

Support services are needed to assist in the reintegration of Indigenous offenders who are releasing from Kwikwexwelhp Healing Village. Calian, a partner of Correctional Services Canada, is looking for qualified applicants to participate in this new project with us.

In this very diverse role, you could be responsible for providing health, wellness, life skills training and/or counselling to Indigenous offenders prior to their release. After their release, you would be ensuring they have the services they need to reintegrate into the community.

The qualifications:

  • Two years experience within the last four years providing case management, health, wellness or life skills counselling to Indigenous people in a group or individual setting

  • 5 years of counselling experience specifically related to life skills, mental health, trauma or additions

  • 5 years of experience acquiring cultural competency through working with Indigenous communities, groups or individuals

While Calian is open to all qualified applicants, due to the nature of this contract, Calian is actively seeking applicants that identify as First Nations, Inuit or Metis. Those candidates that are First Nations, Inuit or Metis are asked to self identify as part of the application process.

Type of Assignment:

Casual contract, likely to be between 20 - 37.5 hours per week
