Nurse Opportunity in Holding Centre - Full time and casual roles available

About the role:

Registered Nurses are needed to provide vital health care services at a holding centre in Surrey.

In this role you will work collaboratively with RCMP Officers and security staff to ensure the health and wellbeing of those individuals being detained. You will conduct thorough physical and psychiatric health evaluations on individuals in holding. You will administer medications, do rounds, provide wound care and manage withdrawal symptoms.

With the guidance of a Nurse Manager and the support of off-site Physicians and Nurse Practitioners, you will work autonomously on site caring for your patients.

The qualifications:

• Licensed in good standing as a Registered Nurse in British Columbia

• Minimum of six months experience working in an acute care setting

• Experience working in emergency room is an asset

• Experience working in addictions is an asset
