About the role:
Enjoy the opportunity to work autonomously within your scope of practice at the City of Surrey RCMP run jail. Calian operates a 24/7 nursing station within the jail where our Registered Nurses work independently to provide health care services to newly arrested individuals.
This might include wound care, medication management, monitoring withdrawal symptoms and first response to individuals who are in the jail for a limited time. With the support of an off-site Medical Director, you will perform medical and psychiatric assessments and perform necessary nursing interventions to ensure individuals in the jail are fit to remain in the cells prior to be remanded or released.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in British Columbia
• Two years of experience, ideally in an ICU, ER or Corrections setting
• CPR or ACLS certification
Type of assignment:
Shift rotation is 2 days, 2 nights, 5 off, 12 hour shifts
