About the role:
A Counsellor is needed to provide counselling to individuals in Iqaluit who may be experiencing vicarious trauma due to exposure during prosecution of criminal offences.
This role involves flying to Iqaluit 4 times per year. During your visits you will provide one-hour one-on-one counselling sessions for up to 40 individuals. You will be responsible for up to 25 hours every three months of ongoing follow-up, one-on-one counselling via telephone.
You will need to be flexible to be on-site in Iqaluit for approximately one week 4 times per year.
• Master’s Degree in Counselling, related to vicarious trauma, PTSD and/or grief counselling
• Three years experience within the last five years providing counselling related to vicarious trauma, PTSD and/or grief counselling
• Experience treating Aboriginal clients would be considered an asset
