About the role:
Do you consider yourself a subject matter expert on Image/Signal Processing and Laser Optics? Do you have a passion for research and analysis? If so, the Analytical and Radiochemistry Researcher position is the one for you!
We want you to join the Calian team to provide research-based tasks with a focus on signal/image processing and optics to our client at the Royal Military College, with the Department of Elictrical and Computer Engineering.
You will provide subject matter expert support, studying the most common image correction algorithms and making improvements to these algorithms. You will help develop and code new image correction algorithms, help develop real-time algorithms using GPU implementation of image enhancement algorithms, and will help collect experimental data with a telescope and CCD cameras.
Other responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Research, implement and test image processing algorithms
• Collect images through turbulence in a 2 to 10 km path through various turbulent conditions
• Draft scientific papers and write research progress reports
• Present scientific results at conferences
If you're still interested, you must possess the following:
• Masters or PhD. in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related degree)
• Experience with Image Processing or Signal Processing
• Experience using MatLab and "C" Programming
• Experience with Laser and Optics
• Ability to obtain a Government of Canada Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance

Contract, Part-time (25 hours per week)
