About the role:
Calian is proud to continue a long-standing contractual relationship with the Department of National Defence to provide healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces and Cadet Summer Training Camp Program.
Every summer, Cadets attend youth summer camps to expand on their training and to network with Cadets from across Canada. These camps require the support of qualified medical professionals to respond to a wide range of healthcare needs from the campers.
Primary Care Physicians are needed to perform physical examinations, diagnosis and manage common health conditions, performing selected diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, counselling patients on preventive health care and facilitating access to health services and referrals. Education on communicable diseases, responding to first aid concerns, and supporting mental health needs will be daily aspects of the role.
These roles are best suited to Primary Care Physicians with flexibility in their schedules to commit to working one to eight weeks every summer in the camps, with the opportunity to return yearly to the role. We can offer you the opportunity to work with a unique paediatric population who are motivated to be in good health and live active lifestyles. You will also benefit from working in a team environment in scenic locations across the country.
Opportunities are available rural and urban settings in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and BC.
• Must be licensed as a Physician in your province of work
• Hold certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP)
• CPR certificate
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening police check
