Primary Care Paramedic
About the role:
Calian is looking forward to continuing our existing decade-long relationship with the Department of National Defense by employing civilian healthcare professionals at 20 locations across Canada, who provide medical support to the Canadian Forces Cadet Summer Camp Program.
Every summer, Cadets attend youth summer camps to expand on their training and to network with Cadets from across Canada. These camps require the support of qualified medical professionals to respond to a wide range of healthcare needs from the campers.
Primary Care Paramedics are needed to join the interdisciplinary team. You will be conducting patient history and physical assessments, providing first line care in a field environment, assisting with providing primary health care and emergency health care services in the clinic and providing medical services in a wilderness environment for urgent and non-urgent concerns. Physical fitness is an important consideration for the role as you may be required to join Cadets while they complete field exercises in a wilderness environment.
These roles are best suited to Primary Care Paramedics with flexibility in their schedules to commit to working one to eight weeks every summer in the camps, with the opportunity to return yearly to the role. We can offer you the opportunity to work with a unique paediatric population who are motivated to be in good health and live active lifestyles. You will also benefit from working in a team environment in scenic locations across the country.
Opportunities are available rural and urban settings in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and BC.
