CALIAN RENEWS A CONTRACT WITH NRCAN VALUED AT CLOSE TO $5 MILLION
Kanata, Ontario, July 26, 2004: Calian Technology Ltd. (TSX: CTY) has been awarded a Contract by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) for the provision of Operations and Maintenance services for the Gatineau Satellite Station in Cantley, Quebec. The contract is for a one-year period, with two additional one-year options. The total value of the contract over the three-year period is valued at close to $5 million.
Under the contract terms, Calian will provide management, technical, administrative and other staff to fully support the world-class remote sensing satellite data reception station owned by NRCan’s Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS). This includes operation, maintenance and repair of the sophisticated equipment used for satellite tracking, reception, data processing, production, and archiving of various digital imagery products, as well as other duties required to ensure the smooth functioning of the station on a 24 hours per day, 365 days a year basis. Calian has provided these services to NRCan since 1985 representing Calian’s seventh consecutive contract.
