CALIAN TECHNOLOGY Ltd. TO HOLD CONFERENCE CALL FOLLOWING ANNOUNCEMENT OF FIRST QUARTER RESULTS

Kanata, Ontario - January 15, 2004: - Calian Technology Ltd. (TSX: CTY) will hold a telephone conference call at 4:00 p.m. eastern standard time on Thursday, January 22, 2004 to discuss the first quarter 2004 results for the period ended December 31, 2003, which will be released during business hours January 22, 2004.
