CALIAN TECHNOLOGY Ltd. TO HOLD CONFERENCE CALL FOLLOWING ANNOUNCEMENT OF FOURTH QUARTER RESULTS

Kanata, Ontario, Tuesday November 7, 2002: Calian Technology Ltd. (TSX: CTY) will hold a telephone conference call at 4:00 p.m. eastern standard time on Tuesday, November 12, 2002 to discuss the fourth quarter results for the period ended September 30, 2002, which will be released during business hours November 12, 2002. Hosting the call will be Larry O'Brien, Chief Executive Officer and Jacqueline Gauthier, Chief Financial Officer.

For its fourth quarter of 2002, Calian confirms that it exceeded its previously disclosed guidance of sales of approximately $32.3 million and earnings per share of approximately $0.13 and will report sales of approx. $34 million and earnings per share of approx. $0.13 to $0.14.
