CALIAN TECHNOLOGY Ltd. TO HOLD CONFERENCE CALL FOLLOWING ANNOUNCEMENT OF FIRST QUARTER RESULTS

Kanata, Ontario Wednesday February 14, 2001: Calian Technology Ltd. ( TSE.CTY ) will hold a telephone conference call at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2001 to discuss the first quarter results for the period ended December 31, 2000 which will be released at 8:00 a.m. Friday February 16, 2001. Hosting the call will be Shaun McEwan, President and Chief Executive Officer.
