CALIAN AWARDED $5.2 MILLION CONTRACT BY CANADIAN SPACE AGENCY
FOR OPERATIONS ENGINEERING SUPPORT SERVICES [MISSION OPERATIONS]

is pleased to announce it's Outsourcing Division has been awarded a contract by the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), worth approximately $5.2 Million over a three (3) year period. Calian will provide a team of engineers, to the CSA, who are well versed in pre-mission planning, mission execution and post-flight activities. This will enable the CSA to continue to fulfill its obligations to the International Space Station Program (ISSP).
Calian’s personnel are employed at the CSA in St-Hubert, Québec to support the development of the Mobile Servicing System (MSS) flight hardware and software. Other areas of involvement include:
- participation in international flight software development activities
- providing support in the planning of robotics activities
- supporting mission planning functions for the CSA Mission Operations’ activities and products
- working in co-operation with NASA, on procedure integration efforts for the MSS activities and products
- supporting the MSS real-time operations
- assisting CSA efforts, as part of the Combined Robotics Team
- providing input into the development and maintenance of CSA and joint CSA/NASA program documentation
- supporting the CSA risk management process regarding MSS activities and products
Calian’s team also assists the CSA in mission planning, mission operations, enabling the CSA to maintain its leadership position in the International Space Station Program. This effort by Calian and its staff will help to ensure that CSA, as a federal government agency, demonstrates its leadership in the area of space operations.
